IMC-1000CS-E is an industrial grade, non-managed, Gigabit Ethernet media converter that supports conversion between electrical 10/100/1000Base-T and optical 1000Base-FX Ethernet. Simple DIP switch settings allow configuring the UTP port for auto-negotiation or for forced 10/100/1000 speed and half/ full duplex as well as for enabling LFPT (Link Fault Pass Through), Ethernet flow control (802.3x) and selecting Switch Mode (store & forward) or Converter Mode (Jumbo frame Pass-through). Housed in rugged DIN rail or wall mountable enclosures, these converters are designed for harsh environments, such as industrial networking and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and are also suitable for many military and utility market applications where environmental conditions exceed commercial product specifications.

The FMC media converters are noticed for their simplicity: no management features and guaranteed reliability and extremely affordable cost. Units have an SC fiber optic connectors.. 

The FMC-10-100-SC02A is a hard to find BiDirectional single strand multi-mode(850/1310nm) fiber media converter equipped with a single SC type optical connector, auto-negotiation 10/100 and MDI/MDI-X features for the Fast Ethernet RJ45 UTP interface. It is paired with the FMC-10-100-SC02B (this item is sold as a kit).

Even without the SNMP management support, FMC series support Link-Fault-Pass through function (LFP - an extremely useful feature to easily debug faulty fiber links), Far-End-Fault function (FEF), acts on a Store-and-Forward switching platform and can carry Jumbo data packets up to 9K size. These extra functions and speed and flow selections can be made through the available DIP switches on the front panel of the media converter.

Being a single strand converter, the FMC-10-100-SC02A is paired with the FMC-10-100-SC02B counterpart to obtain a viable fiber link. Models use two wavelengths of 1550 and 1310nm to coexist on same single strand of fiber and they act complementary: A model has Tx:1310nm/Rx:1550nm while B model has Tx:1550nm/Rx:1310nm.

A new member of the popular FMC series, the FMC-1001S Gigabit converter has a dual speed Fast/Gigabit rate SFP slot (100/1000Base-X) for optical transceiver and one RJ-45 copper port with auto-negotiation 10/100/1000 and MDI/MDI-X features for the Gigabit Ethernet copper interface. Unit has DIP sw settings available for LFP function, speed and flow control on each port for maximum flexibility and fine tuning of the fiber or copper link connection. LED indicators signal the power status of the converter, UTP port speed, Link, and duplex status, FX port Link and duplex status. Used with their compatible FMC-CH17 fiber optic chassis they can be aggregated up to 17 units in a 19" wide and 2U height space only.
